Logo competition

All the children from year 5 to 8 did their best to design the logo of our project.

The children's jury finally selected three from Yoek (year 6) and Elise and Dayenne from year 8.

They received a lot of votes in the final competition in Poland, but the children chose a logo from Italy as the winner

6TH MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL, AGIA NAPA CYPRUS

For the sixth consecutive year, the municipality of Ayia Napa organized the Medieval Festival from the 15th until the 21st of October in 2011, with various medieval performances, which took place in Ayia Napa΄s Medieval Monastery.

Children of Ayia Napa΄s Primary School, participated and enriched the framework of the festival, where they had the chance to inform the community about our school΄s involvement to the International Comenius project, “U-Knight-Europe”.

At the beginning of the festival, on the 15th of October, children were marching along the main street of Ayia Napa, holding the flags of all the participant countries, accompanied by a percussion band.

The parade was amazing and led the children to the idyllic site of the medieval monastery of Ayia Napa.

They were dressed with medieval breathtaking suits representing crusaders and knights with medieval weapons. Costumes for queens, gowns and impressive long dresses were worn by our children, sponsored by the Municipality of Ayia Napa.

During the whole week our children had the opportunity to attend the festival by sharing leaflets for the programme, offering wine to the guests and simultaneously spreading our action in the Comenius project
“U-Knight Europe”.

Our own corner in the courtyard in the monastery, was dedicated to the Comenius project. Artwork of our students was exhibited and the goals and the rationale of our project were presented.

The last night on the 21st of October, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Andreas Tsokkos closed the festival with his speech accompanied by our children on the stage.

Moving around the courtyard of the monastery they had a unique and pleasant involvement, reviving the culture of Middle Ages and experienced how to become a knight.
